Thorn holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Graduate Certificate in Christian Sex Therapy from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta. He holds Georgia state licenses as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor and is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, and is an associate member of the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.
Thorn works with adult men and women, couples, families, and adolescent males. While he works with individuals and couples experiencing a variety of issues, he is at his best working with clients seeking help for sexual addiction, unwanted sexual behavior and pornography use, marital conflict and communication problems, sexual abuse recovery, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, stress management, codependency, and family conflict. Thorn is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and can incorporate this into care for trauma recovery and addiction recovery, among other issues. He also enjoys helping clients seeking counseling for personal and spiritual growth and offers premarital and pre-engagement counseling. Thorn also provides clinical supervision to interns and pre-licensed therapists as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) and an AAMFT Supervisor in Training.
