Alison holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Graduate Certificates in Trauma Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. Alison is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Georgia, and is board certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Alison works with adult individuals and couples. She treats a variety of concerns, including anxiety, codependency, communication concerns, relationship concerns, life transitions, and eating disorders. She has a passion for working with adults who have a history of trauma and young adults experiencing disordered eating and body image concerns. Prior to working in private practice, she worked in multiple in-patient and residential hospital settings that treated psychiatric issues and eating disorders.
In her practice, she values the therapeutic relationship, trust, and safety as important components of counseling. She engages clients from a holistic viewpoint, valuing the relationship between mind and body as a means of healing. She believes counseling is a process of reconnecting with yourself and your core values. She offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as an EMDR trained therapist.
