Hi, I'm Ryan!

I’m a graduate counseling intern at Stonegate Counseling Associates and a student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) master’s program at Liberty University, where I’ll graduate in August 2026. I’m passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and discover new pathways to growth, healing, and purpose. My desire to help people overcome their struggles is what drew me to counseling, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients through depression, anxiety, high stress, life transitions, and all other kinds of challenges.

In my role as an intern, I am able to see clients at a reduced rate. See our Fees & FAQs page for details.

How I Approach Therapy

I believe counseling should be a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals without judgment. While I am still developing my own counseling philosophy, I am drawn to approaches such as Existential Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. For clients who wish to integrate their faith into the counseling process, I am honored to incorporate Christian perspectives, Scripture, and prayer into our work together.

Who I Work With

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, teens, college students, and adults. Some of my areas of interest include:
  • Stress management and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Insomnia
  • Life transitions
  • Self-esteem challenges
  • Relationship concerns
  • Personal and spiritual growth

Background & Experience

Prior to beginning the CMHC program, I served as a Controller for three multi-million-dollar companies in Atlanta during my 16 years in accounting. I hold an undergraduate degree in Business Management and Accounting. While my professional background began in the corporate world, my heart for helping others inspired me to follow a new calling in counseling. Outside of counseling, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, playing pool, watching the Georgia
Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves, and spending time with friends and family.

I practice under the clinical supervision of Taylor Mason, whose credentials and contact information can be found here.
