Hi, I’m Allen!
After 35 years of military service, I began a second career as a counselor. Now as an Associate Clinician at Stonegate, I’m ready to serve in a new way. Taking that first step towards change can be daunting, but I would be proud to help you take that step. No matter if you are feeling anxious or depressed or navigating work or relationships, I can work with you and create a safe and confidential space to heal and grow. I'm available to work with new clients in person in Watkinsville or over secure telehealth throughout Georgia starting Monday May 4. How I Approach Therapy: My approach to therapy is both integrative and relational. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems theory, and other evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves and their relationships. I also incorporate practical skills, including emotional regulation and communication strategies, to help clients create meaningful changes in their lives. At the core of my work is a belief that growth happens in the context of honest, authentic, safe relationships. I will challenge you when needed, but always with the goal of helping you move toward greater freedom, responsibility, and connection. We’ll work together to understand the deeper patterns that keep you stuck and develop a path forward that aligns with your values. As a Christian therapist, I also offer the integration of faith into the counseling process for those who desire it. I believe that true healing involves both emotional and spiritual growth, and I seek to help clients move from control and isolation toward Christ- centered connection. Who I Work With: I primarily work with adult men, adolescent males, couples, and families. I have a particular passion for helping men engage more fully in their lives, relationships, and faith. Many of the clients I work with are dealing with:
With a background in military service, I also bring an understanding of structure, discipline, and the unique challenges that men often face in high-responsibility roles. My Background & Experience: I am currently working toward full licensure as a marriage and family therapist and am committed to ongoing growth both personally and professionally. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. I am also Level One Certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of relational and emotional challenges. My focus is not just on symptom relief, but on helping clients build a more grounded, connected, and purposeful life. I practice under the clinical supervision of Thorn Winkler, whose contact information and credentials can be found here. Let’s Work Together! If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy is a place where you can slow down, be honest, and begin to take meaningful steps toward change. When you’re ready, I’d be honored to walk with you in that process. |
