She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals with trauma histories and young adults facing disordered eating and body image struggles. Before transitioning to private practice, Alison gained experience working in inpatient and residential settings for psychiatric and eating disorder treatment.
In her practice, Alison prioritizes the therapeutic relationship, trust, and safety. She takes a holistic approach, integrating mind and body to support healing. She believes counseling is a process of reconnecting with your core values and true self. Alison is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and offers this technique to clients as part of their healing journey. She is also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the gold standard for helping couples reduce distress and restore deep connection. Alison holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Graduate Certificates in Trauma Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Georgia, and is board-certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). |
